Screen Australia at Berlin

During Berlinale and the EFM, Screen Australia will be on the ground.

Screen Australia is proud to present the line-up of Australian films and talent at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival in 2017.

 

At this year’s Berlinale there are nine Australian films premiering: Casting JonBenet, Berlin Syndrome, RED DOG: True Blue, EMO the Musical, Monsieur Mayonnaise, After the Smoke, Smashed, Wolfe and Wutharr, Saltwater Dreams. Also Alex Proyas’ 1998 classic sci-fi Dark City will screen in Retrospective.

 

In addition, three Australians – producer Lee Matthews (EMO the Musical), director Tony Radevski and editor Anthony Cox – have been chosen to participate in the concurrent Berlinale Talents professional development program for emerging filmmakers.

 

Oscar-winning Australian actor Geoffrey Rush will be awarded a Berlinale Camera award. This highly prestigious prize was established in 1986 for individuals who have had a significant impact on global screen. Rush also stars in Stanley Tucci’s Final Portrait. Australian actor Hugh Jackman stars in James Mangold’s Logan. Both films screen Out of Competition.
